Run Sessions

Sat a.m. 5:00am sharp
LSD trips (long slow distance!).  Kicks off from the IGA Cashmere carpark (1 Warra Lane, Cashmere).  The runs start at about 12km and can go up to 25-30km. Typically, this session is for regular runners who are fit and need to do some LSD training for forthcoming races. There are water and toilet stops on the routes we take.  Wear bright or white clothing, invest in proper running apparel so that you don’t drown in your own sweat.  Those going on the longer runs should bring along some Gels and a waterbottle…… and a sense of humour.
Where? In and around Lake Samsonvale depending on session. For those who have Facebook, check the South Pine Striders Members page where members will post what distance they are planning and route plans so that you can join in with someone of similar ability.

Tues & Thurs a.m. 5:00am sharp
Intermediate & Advanced runners. A mixture of moderate trail runs, interval training, hill repeats, fartlek etc. Current mixed group of up to 20.
Where? In and around Lake Samsonvale depending on session. In the summer months meet at Bullockys Rest carpark and the winter months meet at PCYC Francis Road Bray Park.  Call or SMS Stan on 0402019050 for more information.

Tues & Thurs p.m. 7:20pm for a 7:30pm start.
Each Tuesday alternates between a ‘normal’ run, hill repeats and intervals.  Thursdays are a mixed bag with running sessions and conditioning sessions designed to strengthen your core and improve cardio vascular fitness. Most run sessions are designed to last 40 minutes minimum, and not too much more than that.
Where? South Pine Community Church car park, corner Eatons Crossing & South Pine Rd’s, Eatons Hill.
What to wear: Please wear bright clothing and reflective gear you have got if you are in the evening Striders session. Bring a water bottle and a watch.
