Jim Collins best selling book on leadership ‘Good To Great’ analysed the difference between ‘good’ companies and ‘great’ companies and what set them apart. It has some worthwhile transferrable concepts to apply to running. As a coach I observe plenty of evidence that ‘good’ can be the enemy of ‘great’. New Striders Leadership Team

Our new identity as fully independent club was cemented last night.  At our meeting the inaugural leadership team of South Pine Striders were voted in. We have a team of eight which includes three officers and five members of the management team.  We also filled a number of other club roles on what was a very productive night. More reasons to run

News reports today carry bad news for Australia’s twentysomethings:

THE health of the average 20-something Australian has slipped steadily in the past two decades, according to a report showing a fatter, more depressed young population.

A leading population health expert has challenged the official government view that young people today are much healthier than previous generations.
